The LISD Office of Communications kindly request your support for our upcoming Annual Belle of the Ball Prom Program. As we prepare for this special occasion, we are collecting formal and semiformal gowns for our young ladies and Tuxedos and sports coats and ties for our young men to provide them with memorable attire for their prom night.

If you have any gently used formal or semiformal dresses, Tuxedos and sports coats and ties that you would like to donate, we would be immensely grateful for your contribution. Your generosity will directly impact the lives of our students and help make their prom experience truly unforgettable.

Laredo ISD Special Education Department hosted the 2026 Special Olympics Texas Area 21 opening ceremony and games at historic Shirley Field. Special education students from Laredo ISD, Jim Hogg County ISD, Webb County Consolidated ISD and Zapata County ISD participated in a variety of events. Each student received a medal for every event they participated in.

Save the date!!! Family Reading Night, Thursday, March 5 from 4 to 6 pm. A special puppet show at 5 pm from the Laredo Public Library.

Save the Date!! Burger King Night, Tuesday March 3, 2026. Don't forget to bring your flyer. The class with the most participation will get a hamburger party.

The Laredo Independent School District is hosting its sixth annual Scholars Golf Tournament on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Casa Blanca Golf Course.


Funds raised from the Golf Tournament will benefit scholarships for deserving graduating seniors from the Hector J. Garcia Early College High School, Raymond and Tirza Martin High School, J.W. Nixon High School, and Dr. Leonides Cigarroa High School

We are continuing to seek sponsors and teams for the tournament. If you need more information on being sponsor or want to register a team, please contact Bobby Trevino at rwtrevino@laredoisd.org or by phone at 273-1732.

🦅💻 Computer Science Week at Leyendecker Elementary was a blast!

Our Eagles had an amazing time exploring technology, coding, and creativity all week long. We’re so proud to celebrate our Code-A-Thon winners, who will represent Leyendecker at the district level—way to soar! 🎉👏

A big shout-out to all our Eagles who participated and gave coding their best. Keep dreaming, creating, and coding! 🚀✨

We would like to congratulate our 4th and 5th grade choir members along with our Music Director, Mr. Andrade, for performing at the Tiger Team Honor Choir Christmas Program.

A few lucky Eagle students were able to attend the IBC "It’s a Brighter Christmas" - Students were showered with gifts, ate some yummy pizza and the meet the big man himself, Santa Claus!
We were delighted to see such happy students. Thank you IBC for making our students have a brighter Christmas! 💜 💛 ❤️

McDonalds of Laredo presented Dovalina, Leyendecker, Kawas, and D.D. Hachar Elementary Schools with a check during a ceremony at the LISD PAC Foyer. McDonalds hosted LISD McTeacher Night at various locations recently to benefit the four schools. The school received the donation for their efforts during the schools McTeacher Night Fundraiser.

THE CLASS WITH THE MOST PARTICIPATION WILL BE GETTING A HAMBURGER PARTY. ALSO, ANY STUDENT THAT ATTENDS WILL GET A FREE HOMEWORK PASS.

ATTENTION EAGLES 🦅 this past Monday we had our 2nd Six Weeks ESSA- we awarded our king and queen as well as top attendance classes that received pizza on Halloween on behalf of LISD Board Member President Juan Ramirez. We also had our top scholars and our top AR classes…. Way to go Eagles! 🦅 keep up the great work! 💜 💛
